I have been too much of a chicken to get my colonoscopy completed, although it has been over 5 years since I had one last time, and I can blame that only on myself (no matter how many excuses I can come up with), but this experience was certainly a surprise and I would highly recommend any UCer who is overdue to get the scoping job taken care of so you can rest in peace.
I have never been in remission and struggle to get out and about without the occasional reluctant help of loparidamide(imodium) due to the ridiculously frequent BM’s. On the plus side I have no pain and for the last 18 months have rarely seen blood. I also remain positive regarding eventually getting into remission without an operation. UC is much more than disease, it is a way of life.
