Right now I have been battling a flare for almost 5 months which was caused by my trying to stop taking Imuran and stay in remission naturally. I am back on the Imuran and trying to control things with that and my diet, but it’s been frustratingly slow.

I’m from New Jersey but love to travel and have a passport that’s begging to be used! I’m hoping to join the Peace Corp after I get my degree, but realize that’ll be a struggle since I have UC. If all else fails, I plan to do as many missions trips as possible in as many countries as I can!
What I didn’t know was that the longer you let the symptoms go, the further up your colon the disease travels. On a side note, my GI is convinced that the imuran put me in remission, but my Oregon physician and I both KNOW it was the low-dose naltrexone.
