Dr. Divittorio attended medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine and graduated in 1966 having 45 years experience.

While there is no proven correlation between the quality of one’s educational institution and the quality of one’s professional competence, it is often an indicator. Medical schools have various levels of selectivity (some are harder to get into than others), and both the quality of their clinical training and level of research are measured. Additional medical training in both residency and fellowships and the facilities they are conducted at also provide a history of the doctors’ level of training and experience.

From personal experience with this doctor, I felt he was slightly impersonal. I really had to do research on my own to ask the right questions to obtain his opinion on my situation, as well as his suggestions for gaining my health back. He was middle grounded on his opinion of food, and if it really had adverse effects on people with Ulcerative Colitis. I’m paraphrasing him here, but he just said to not to go to crazy extremes with anything i ate, but to maintain a “well balanced diet.” He listened well enough, but he scared my wife to death when I got out of my first colonoscopy, apparently he went up to her and said, “My! That boy is sick!” and sauntered off with no further explanation. My wife had to follow him to ask him for a more clear and hopefully reassuring answer. His staff at the office was very nice and they work with insurance companies, although I’m not sure which ones they are, because I myself, do not have health insurance. El Dorado County is very helpful at working with people who do not have insurance. You have to jump through a lot of hoops, and it took me six months from the first doctors visit to finally get a colonoscopy and the care I really needed, but it saved me over 20 thousand dollars. If anyone in this county has UC go to the Placerville community health center and they will help obtain what you need to get well and save a few claims.
