After struggling to find a doctor in Toledo, I sought help from the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Philpott was amazing from the very first appointment. She has been extremely thorough, thoughtful, and understanding. She has called after hours to see how I am doing, and has followed up after every appointment. Her nursing staff and the clinic staff has been wonderful as well! She is very easy to get a hold of, has called me back within a few hours every time, and has gone above and beyond to make sure I am getting the care I need. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Philpott and her staff. Thanks to her I am finally getting healthy again!
Dr Philpott is somewhat reserved but a very good listener. When she asks you something, you can tell she is listening to your full answer and considering it before she moves on. She seems to think things through a lot, she will work with you on squeezing in appointment times, messaging back and forth with updates, and finding the right medications. She never rushes you. Good after visit instructions.
She is also good at explaining things. She is good at remembering things you have told her before. She also is one to check in with you if she hasn't heard from you in a while and I love that about her. She is very focused to the goal of getting the UC in remission, but is open to your opinons on how you want to work with her to reach that goal. I have never been hesistant to ask her a question or worried about what she might think.
I would give her a high rating for profesionalism. I think she is professional but also relatable and down to earth. She is not profesional in the sense that she is cold and removed, but rather she uses time wisely and treats you with respect.
The office staff is average. I also work for the Cleveland Clinic and I believe the staff in her office could be a lot friendlier at the desk. They are very friendly on the phones.
I've actually been on 3 differerent insurances in one year (yikes!) since I've started with her and she has accepted all three (Aetna, BCBS, and the Cleveland Clinic Employee Plan)
