Dr. Manimaran – Gastroenterologist – Chennai, India

As a UC patient I have been consulting various doctor over last 4-5 yrs. Interestingly being a doctor (graduated recently) myself and a son of a doctor, I didn't find it any difficult to get in contact with famous doctors both in person and also over the phone. I consulted doctors from PGI Chandigarh and then ended up having severe gastritis after taking some of the medicines he prescribed. Afterwards I had to go to Apollo hospital ,Chennai for further management as I was worsening day by day. But I found it of no use. Consulted famous doctors of MMC, Chennai with no benefit. Eventually I came to Dr. Manimaran in Institute of medical gastroenterology, SMC, chennai. He did all the needful for me including colonoscopy and prescribed me some medicines. Next day i was flying home that is near Delhi. My father a general physician wanted me to see doctors in AIIMS , New Delhi. In India that is the premier institute anyways. Amazingly the treat ment guidelines were same given by both Dr. Manimaran and the HOD MGE , AIIMS , New Delhi except they added few more drugs. I called Dr. Manimaran on the same day. Then he was like no need of taking that medicine. You will be fine with what I have given you. Fortunately my symptoms came down within less than a week. A big thanks for Dr. Manimaran and Doctors there in AIIMS. I have been in remission since ever than and it has been like 18 months. Way to go.!



Later I found out Institute of medical gastroenterology , SMC ,Chennai is "State of art institute" and "centre of excellence". And yes that's what I felt.
