Dr. Perry Kamel – Gastroenterologist – Chicago, IL

This doctor definitely earned his 5 stars. I was diagnosed with UC about 3 years ago (2010) and he was the first GI doctor I went to. I certainly did some research online to try and find the a good doc and many fingers pointed his way. I happen to work at the same hospital he works at so that definitely sealed the deal. Let me tell you, this guy is really well rounded as far as listening, bedside manner, professional, etc. When I went through my first major flare (persistent blood loss, constipation, etc.) he really made me feel comfortable and assured me that everything was gonna be all right. After my first consultation we right away got into colonoscopy talk, which i really hated, 'cause lets face it, "I'm a man!" lol But any who, we arranged for it and honestly i couldn't wait to get it over with because I was losing a lot of blood and was in fear for my life. Long story short, after all was done he prescri bed me Prednisone to try and stop the bleeding right away and put me on Sulfasalazine. He has been a life saver to say the least. I am so glad to have found him and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone in Chicago. His office is two blocks down from the Water Tower Mall on Michigan Ave so you can enjoy the rest of the day if you take off the day for your appointment lol.
